The present invention relates to reading heads for optical disk reading. Such a reading head comprises a light source 71, a condenser 78 for condensing the light beam emitted by the light source onto an optical recording medium 80, a photodetector 83 for detecting the light beam's light reflected from the recording medium, and a beam splitter 73 comprising a diffraction grating 75 arranged in the optical path of the light beam entering the recording medium from the light source along a plane substantially perpendicular to the optical axis of the incident light beam in order to cause the reflected light coming from the recording medium to be diffracted by this diffraction grating and directed towards the photodetector 83. <IMAGE>
