With a view to relieving any stress regarding the thickness of the reinforcing ribs of the articles, whilst obtaining a perfect surface appearance for the latter, the displacement velocity of the movable member 4 of the press is sensed (at 7) and when the point O of this velocity is detected, the pressure exerted on the said member is reduced so as to allow the latter the possibility of being lifted up under the effect of the internal pressure developed by the polymerisation of the material.
