Penicillanoyloxymethyl penicillanate 1,1,1',1'-tetraoxide I (M = carboxylate producing cation; X = leaving gp.) was manufd. by reacting II and III in the presence of an org. polar solvent at 0 - 80≦̸C. I is esp. co-administered with a slightly soluble penicillin or cephalosporin salt (esp. procaine, benzathine or benethanine penicillin G or penicillin V) in wt. ratio (I) to salt 1 ; 6 - 6 ; 1, esp. 1 ; 1 - 1 ; 3. (I) is slightly soluble in water.
