PURPOSE:To enable multicolor printing high in throughput, by providing an ink supply means, which freely selects a plurality of color inks provided in the feed- out side of a ribbon to supply the same to the ribbon, along said ribbon. CONSTITUTION:An ink tank 14 is rotated by a control signal so as to be capable of supplying indicated color ink to a ribbon 16 containing no ink and predetermined ink tanks 14a-14d are brought into contact with the ribbon 16 to supply the indicated color ink. When the surface of the ribbon 16 containing the indicated color ink reaches the front surface of the dot wire of a printing head 11 by the feeding of said ribbon 16, impact is applied to the ribbon 16 and a medium 13 by the dot wire and the information of the indicated color is recorded on the medium 13. Color printing high in throughput is enabled and multicolor printing can be easily performed. |
