PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent tendency of lack of lubricating quantity between slide surfaces of a cylinder and a piston in low speed operation of a motor in a compressor for a refrigerating cycle. SOLUTION: As lubricating oil quantity to the slide surfaces between the cylinder 11 and the piston 12 is reduced, temperature of the cylinder 11 and the piston 12 is raised by friction heat. A compression part temperature sensor 34 is provided on the cylinder 11, and as temperature of the cylinder 11 exceeds a specified value, a main control part determines lack of lubricating oil quantity to slightly increase rotation speed of the motor 14. Lubricating oil quantity lifted into a lubricating oil passage 30 by a centrifugal lubricating function provided on a rotary shaft 15 of the motor 14 is thus increased, thereby lubricating oil quantity between the slide surfaces of the cylinder 11 and the piston 12 is increased.
