PURPOSE:To discriminate the shape of objects to be measured always under the same conditions even if the place of measurement is different according to the kinds of said objects by moving cooperatively one line sensor and one light source while maintaining the positional relation at which the line sensor output is always stable. CONSTITUTION:A shape discriminating device discriminates the outside shape of a product 1 by forming the projecting image of the appearance shape of the product on a line sensor incorporated in a camera 2 and comparing and inspecting the line sensor output with the true data read preliminarily into a controller. The device is so constituted that one line sensor camera 2 and one light source 8 move cooperately while maintaining the positional relation within the range where the line sensor output is stable. The stable discrimination of the outside shape is thus made possible always under the same processing conditions even if the place of measurement is different. The effect of preventing mixing of different products in a production line for multiple kinds is obtd. |
