PURPOSE:To widen a frequency band width so that a titled probe can respond to a sharp electric signal pulse, by setting a block width of a piezoelectric vibrating body so as to be constant, and changing an element width of each element for constituting its piezoelectric vibrating body. CONSTITUTION:The first block elements 6a, 6b and 6c constitute the first piezoelectric vibrating body, and are arranged at prescribed intervals by an acoustic matching layer 8 and a damper 9 together with the second block elements 7a, 7b and 7c. Accordingly, an admittance characteristic of the first piezoelectric vibrating body connecting electrically in parallel three elements 6a, 6b and 6c whose resonance frequency is different from each other by a ratio of a thickness (t) and widths W1, W2 and W3 is added, therefore, the admittance characteristic is flattened considerably extending over a wide frequency range, and the probe responds easily to a sharp electric signal pulse. |
