PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voltage regulator which can maintain a voltage regulating function regardless of a system changeover on a distribution line and the installation state of a distributed power supply. SOLUTION: This voltage regulator is a tap-changing voltage regulator provided in the distribution line, and has a function of detecting its primary or secondary voltage by stepping up a tap if the detected voltage is lower than a set value, and by stepping down the tap if the detected voltage is higher than the set value to maintain the primary or secondary voltage within a prescribed voltage range, and comprises a tap selector 34 which changes the tap according to a voltage fluctuation; a register 32 which stores a voltage V1', immediately prior to the tap change; a regidter 32 which detects and stores a voltage V2' after the tap change; a voltage comparison circuit 33 which compares the stored voltages V1' and V2' with each other and, if V1'≈V2', transfers a voltage detection point at that time to the opposite side (the primary side or the secondary side); and if V1'≠V2', it not cause the voltage detection point to transfer. |
