PURPOSE:To produce an H-beam having exactly shaped flange top ends by forming the flange top ends to the shape higher on the inside surface side than on the outside surface side by means of the edger rolls of a universal mill group on the upper stream side. CONSTITUTION:The edger rolls 4 of the universal mill group 2A on the upper stream side of a rolling mill train for H-beam consisting of >=2 universal mill groups 2A, B consisting of a breakdown mill 2, horizontal rolls 5, 5' equipped with the edger rolls 4, 4' and vertical rolls 6, 6' are formed to the shape having 85-89 deg. intersectional angle between the surfaces thereof for rolling down the flange top ends and the surfaces facing the inside surface side of the flanges. The flanges are shaped and rolled down by such edger rolls 4, by which the inside of the flanges is formed higher. The same intersectional angle of the rolls 4' of the mill group 2B on the down stream side is formed approximately to 90 deg. and the flanges are further shaped and rolled down by such rolls. The H- beam is thereafter subjected to finish rolling reduction by the finishing mill 3, by which the H-beam having the correctly shaped flange top ends is obtd. |
