PURPOSE:To miniaturize an entire device by detecting the stop of an index signal when a clamp mechanism is opened and controlling a ready signal thereby preventing write/read error generation due to mis-operation. CONSTITUTION:When a knob or a door is opened with a device selection signal DS at an L level, the drive of a spindle motor is stopped and a ready signal LD outputted rom a NAND gate 19 with a delay by time constant of a monostable circuit 13 is changed to an H level representing disabled write/read. When the knob or the door is closed in such a state, and when the signal changes again to the L level after the signal DS is changed once to an H level, the signal LD changes to an L level representing write/read preparation end with a delay of four pulses' share of an index signal. Thus, when the knob or the door is opened in error during information write/read to a floppy disc, the signal LD changes immediately to the H level and the write/read is stopped. |
