PURPOSE:To safely send a propeller shaft into paths for the shaft in a ship with the propeller shaft supported by a plural number of hangers arranged with them sliding freely along a longish balance mode of I beam, with the end of the balancer fixed to the stern, and with each of hangers making slide to support the front part of the shaft on a supporting truck. CONSTITUTION:In inserting a propeller shaft S into a shell, first the propeller shaft S is hung outside of the shell by a plural number of shaft hangers 14, having chain blocks under them respectively arranged with them, sliding freely along a longish balance 11 made of I beam, and the balance 11 is also hung and moved to near the stern to be fixed to the stern at its end with a fixing member 16. Then, the shaft hangers 14 are slided along the balance to the shell side to send the propeller shaft S into the shell. In sending it, the front part of the propeller shaft S is supported by a supporting truck 20 arranged in paths 2 and 3 in the shell. The supporting truck 20 is slided to insert it in safety into the further depths of the shaft paths 2 and 3.
