PURPOSE:To obtain a signal of 525 lines per field by applying A/D conversion to a video signal, separating the signal into U, V (color difference) and Y (luminance), writing respectively them to three line memories and reading them at the double speed while a required signal processing is applied. CONSTITUTION:After an NTSC signal 30 is A/D-converted by a signal processing circuit 11, the signal is digitized and the U, V (color difference) components and the Y component are outputted. Then each component is written into memories 21a-21c, 21d-21f, 21g-21i. The written signal is read three times respectively from each memory in a speed twice that at write, and after the said read signal passes through buffers 23a-23c and adders 22a-22c, the signal is selected at each line by switches 24a-24c. Then the signal is converted into an analog signal at D/A converters 26a-26c via latches 25a-25c, and the R, G, B components of 525 lines per field are outputted via a matrix circuit 27.
