摘要 PURPOSE:To maintain the accuracy by moving the beam up and down under the condition where the rotary axis of a resilient grinding wheel is positioned in the beam rotary face containing the rotary axis and describing an arched locus of grinding wheel thereby resiliently contacting the grinding wheel against the groove with constant contacting pressure. CONSTITUTION:A work 7 is driven with low speed by means of a lateral spindle 1 and a work supporting table 2 while a resilient grinding wheel 6 is driven with high speed and under this state the grinding wheel table 4 is moved to the advancing position to rotate the beam 3 to the grinding position and hold there for predetermined time. Upon reset of the beam 3 to the departing position, the rotary axis AA of the grinding wheel is positioned in the beam rotary face containing the work rotary axis OO if the radial depth of the annular groove 10 such as the shift fork groove is considerably smaller than the outer diameter of the resilient grinding wheel, to produce the beam 3 or the flexure of the grinding wheel driver in the beam rotary face thus to resiliently contact the outercircumferential section of the resilient grinding wheel uniformly over the entire width in the radial direction of flat face 10a to regulate the grinding margin through the contacting time of the resilient grinding wheel thus to finish the flat face with required accuracy.
