PURPOSE:To obtain an Au alloy having high strength, high corrosion resistance and age hardenability and retaining a gold color tone by adding restricted amounts of Cu, Ag and Pd to Au. CONSTITUTION:This corrosion resistance, hard and golden Au alloy having age hardenability consists of 15-30wt% Cu, 5-25wt% Ag, 4-7wt% Pd and the balance Au. The Au alloy is an age hardening alloy which makes use of the mutual hardness improving effect of Au-Cu and Pb-Cu by regulation. Since the added Pd improves the corrosion resistance, the Au alloy can be used without carrying out surface treatment such as finish plating. The Au alloy is suitable for use as a material for accessories such as a broach and a ring, the point of a fountain pen, a electrical contact, etc.
