PURPOSE:To prevent the decrease in concn. after continuous and repetitive image formation by forming a layer relating to carrier transfer out of a photosensitive layer by vapor deposition for which a raw material for evaporation consisting essentially of selenium contg. >=75% cyclic selenium is used. CONSTITUTION:An Se-Te alloy 2 is put into a melting tank 1 and the alloy 2 is melted by a heater 4. A fan 3 is immersed in the alloy 2 and the alloy 2 is stirred to maintain the uniform temp. A thermocouple 5a is attached to a nozzle 6 as well and the input to a heater 41 wound on a nozzle neck 61 is controlled to prevent the alloy 2 from solidifying in the neck 61. The cyclic selenium is incorporated into the raw material for vapor deposition at >=75% content. The alloy 2 is melted at 400 deg.C and thereafter the temp. is decreased to 250 deg.C and the molten alloy is dropped from the nozzle 6 into pure water 7, by which the photosensitive layer having the high cyclic selenium content is formed. The decrease in the concn. after continuous and repetitive image formation is thus prevented. |
