PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable offset pinch roll device with which the generation of telescoping is prevented. SOLUTION: In the variable offset pinch roll device for a hot-rolling line wherein a strip is transported on an approximately horizontal strip line between an upper roll and a lower roll, and transporting directions to a plurality of coilers are switched, the lower roll is held in a fixed position, the upper roll is supported movably to the lower roll and a triangle gate apparatus is provided on the outlet side of the strip line. By constituting the triangle gate apparatus so as to have a driving means for moving its triangle gate plate to a set position, switching to each of front and rear coilers is surely enabled, the flutter of the strip is dissolved and defective coiling by the telescoping of the strip on each coiler is dissolved.
