PURPOSE:To obtain the sintered two-phase stainless steel having remarkably excellent stress corrosion-cracking (SCC) resistance under the environment contg. chlorides incorporating CO2 and H2O by dispersing the dispersion phase consisting of austenite metallic system into the matrix phase consisting of ferrite- austenite two-phase metallic system. CONSTITUTION:The sintered two-phase stainless steel consists of the above-mentioned matrix phase contg. 20-30% (expressed by wt% hereinafter) Cr, 4.0- 12.0% Ni and 2.0-5.0% Mo and the above-mentioned dispersion phase contg. >=20.0% Cr, 20.0-60.0% Ni and >=3.0% Mo. Further, as the component of the matrix phase and the dispersion phase, if necessary, <=0.30% N may be contained. This stainless steel is obtained by pressing and molding the mixed powder of the ferrite-austenite two-phase stainless steel powder and the austenite stainless steel powder and sintering it. This stainless steel is inexpensive sintered two-phase stainless steel excellent in SCC resistance which exhibits excellent corrosion resistance under the high-temp. and high-pressure environment contg. plenty of gaseous CO2, gaseous H2S and Cl<->.
