In a disposable food container made of plastic, a deeper seat is formed which surrounds the open edge of the container and in which a fittingly shaped holder is inserted in which an item of cutlery or the like required for consuming the contents is detachably mounted or placed. The holder can be constructed as a simple ring, but can also be constructed as a recessed inner lid in whose recess the item of cutlery is placed and which separates the latter from the contents.
