PURPOSE:To enable automatic stable supply of a fresh developer replenishing soln. in accordance with information on image or nonimage areas by measuring the areas of the image or nonimage parts of original films imagewise exposed at the time of developing PS plates in an automatic developing machine. CONSTITUTION:The original film F is overlaid on an unexposed PS plate P and imagewise exposed (b), the area of the image of the film F is measured with an area-measuring meter 4 before, during, or after the exposure, its measured information is stored in a microcomputer 5, and the imagewise PS plate P is fed to the automatic developing machine (a). The plate F is successively moved through a developing bath 1, a developing bath 2 contg. another processing soln., and a drying zone 3, and processed. When the plate P enters the machine (a), a switch SW is turned on, and the developer replenishing soln. is fed into the bath 1 in accordance with the information stored in the microcomputer 5. At that time, an amt. of replenishing soln. to be fed in accordance with the measured value of the meter 4 varies depending on the concns. of the components in the soln., but the relationship between the concns. and the areas of the nonimage parts is preoperly decided, and a program is set between the replenishing mechanism 6 of the machine (a) and the meter 4. |
