The invention is based on a circuit which is suitable for two or more current loads. In order to achieve an energy saving in this case, on the basis of the invention, the loads are successively connected, in a pulsed manner, to a voltage which is higher than the rated voltage, with the preceding load being disconnected. Pulsating direct current, or even a correspondingly rectified alternating current, can be used for this purpose.
