<p>The coder-decoder which is particularly suited to coding and decoding data according to the BCH and RS (Reed-Solomon) block codes, comprises a clock (200), an interface circuit (500), a management circuit (100) comprising a program memory (110), an arithmetic operator (300) for performing simple operations on signed integers representing pointers, indices or diverse variables, a Galois operator (400) for performing additions and multiplications on elements belonging to one only, chosen from outside via the interface, of several Galois fields and representing the information to be coded, or which is coded, or received, or decoded in polynomial form, and an internal data bus (600), an instruction bus (125) and specialised links connecting these various constituent circuits. In a preferred embodiment this coder-decoder is integrated. This coder-decoder is applicable to the high-throughput transmission of protected data, in particular in the area of radio telephones and tactical transmissions. <IMAGE></p> |
