PURPOSE:To improve the lamp life by sealing the Ar gas in a luminous tube with its pressure within a range from 20-100Torr. CONSTITUTION:In a metallic vapor discharge lamp with a heat insulating body at the end of a luminous tube made of ceramic and a transparent heat insulating body on the circumference of the luminous tube, the Ar gas is used as the sealing rare gas and the sealing pressure is set to 20-100Torr. As a result, the lamp voltage rise that causes flickering can be prevented and the metallic vapor discharge lamp that improved the life characteristics can be obtained. |
