PURPOSE:To give fine luster and to improve corrosion and wear resistances when gold or a gold alloy and Al2O3 are simultaneously electrodeposited on a body to be plated by suspending fine Al2O3 particles in an acidic gold plating soln., by adding univalent cations to the plating soln. CONSTITUTION:Fine Al2O3 particles of <=0.7mum average particle size are suspended in an acidic gold plating soln. by 5-100g/l, and gold or a gold alloy and Al2O3 are simultaneously electrodeposited on a body to be plated to carry out composite gold plating. At this time, univalent cations, especially Cs<+> ions are added to the plating soln. by >=0.3g/l as an accelerator for accelerating the deposition of fine Al2O3 particles together with gold or a gold alloy.
