PURPOSE:The titled fine particulate emulsion, obtained by using a polyoxyethylene polyglycerol ether fatty acid ester based compound as an assistant emulsifying agent, suitable to oxygen transfusion, and stable for a long period. CONSTITUTION:A perfluorocarbon emulsion obtained by using a compound expressed by formula I [Y is polyglycerol pentamer or hexamer residue experssed by formula II (l is 5 or 6); Z is acyl derived from 8-26C fatty acid, etc.; b1 and b2 are 5-50; m and n are 1-6 and m+n is 7 when Y is pentamer residue, and m and n are 1-7 and m+n is 8 when Y is hexamer residue] as an assistant emulsifying agent. A specific example of formula I includes polyoxyethylene (90) polyglycerol (5) ether triisostearate, etc. The main emulsifying agent is preferably phospholipid, etc. The emulsion give finer particles than the main emulsifying agent alone and improved stability for a long period. The emulsion can be utilized as a substitute blood and perfusion for preserving internal organs for mammals.
