PURPOSE:To effectively conduct electrical discharge machining for any work in response to its form and its purpose of processing by properly selecting rod- shaped and tuft-shaped electrodes and electrode units, and employing them in a combination in response to the form and conditions of the processing in question. CONSTITUTION:A chuck 6 is opened and closed by a control device 22, and cross slide tables 15, 16, and a turn table 17 are controlled in movement in the X and Y axis direction and in turning respectively, by means of a processing tank 8. A tool exchanging device 21 receives and delivers rod-shaped electrodes 11, tuft-shaped electrodes 12, 13 or an electrode unit 14 from the chuck 6 in accordance with a prescribed program. In exchanging the tuft-shaped electrode 7 mounted on the chuck 6 when prescribed processing is completed, the processing is once stopped, the main shaft 4 is pulled up by rotating the motor 5 through the control device 22, and thereby the chuck 6 is opened to return the electrode 7 to a magazine 10. With such arrangement, any work can effectively be subjected to electrical discharge machining. |
