PURPOSE:To improve the strength of a junction part and to reduce leak light by applying an adhesive to the junction part of a signal and a liquid crystal plate. CONSTITUTION:The signal substrate 2 is joined to the liquid crystal plate 1 at right angles by using solder and the junction part 3 is applied with the adhesive 7 covering the front-side liqd crystal plate side wall 1b of the liquid crystal plate 1 from the end surface of the signal substrate 2. An epoxy adhesive is used as the adhesive 7 and 5wt% black ferrite powder as a light shield material is added. Consequently, the joint strength of the junction part 3 is improved greatly and nearly five times as large as before. Further, leak light is reduced and stable display picture quality is obtained.
