<p>The surface of the object is covered with a photosensitive layer (I), which consists of a gelatinous paste with high sensitivity to light. The layer (I) is dried and a photographic image made on the layer. The paste is pref. made by the hot mixing of animal gelatine, distilled water, and a cpd. of potassium bromide, potassium iodide and silver nitrate, the mixt. then being allowed to set during ca. 8 hrs. followed by filtering and washing the resulting mass. The photographic image is pref. obtd. by exposing the dried layer (I) to light, followed by developing, fixing. and washing. The process provides a simple method of applying photographic decorations to ceramics.</p> |
