PURPOSE:To perform efficient operation by predetermining contents of operations to be performed with respect to respective unit operation items constituting a series of facsimile operations, specifying a unit operation item whose operation contents needs to be altered and altering the operation contents, and shortening the time required for the specifying operation for the series of facsimile operations. CONSTITUTION:When a normal mode N is specified on a console panel 1, ''transmission'', ''reception'', or ''copy'', etc., is displayed on a display part 2; when a transmission mode is selected, the ''transmission'' is left on the display part 2 and setting operation contents of the transmission mode are read out to other areas of a memory to constitute an operation table. When an operator alters operation contents of ''conversational specification'', specification information 1-5 is inputted on the console panel 1 and then ''1-5: conversational specification'' in said operation table is rewritten into ''yes (Y)''; and an end key is hit to complete the specification of a series of transmitting operations.
