PURPOSE:To perform transmitting operation easily and smoothly by sending out an adjustment carrier for time necessary for the automatic setting of an automatic antenna coupler successively to the setting of an operation frequency, and inhibiting the transmission of the adjustment carrier at the same operation frequency thereafter. CONSTITUTION:A transmission part 5 sends the transmission output 51 of an SSB wave modulated with a speech input 52 to an antenna circuit. A CPU6 sends frequency data set with a dial 7 or on a keyboard 8 to the transmission part 5 as PLL control data 61, and a tuning indicator 9 outputs a flash signal 65 after the setting of a frequency. Then, when a request 62 to send is received from a PLL switch 13, a transmission command 63 is outputted to the transmission part 5, which is held in a transmission state. A the same time, the CPU6 sends a command 64 for the transmission of the adjustment carrier to the transmission part 5 to maintain the transmission of the adjustment carrier for a specific time, and the indicator 9 illuminates during this period.
