PURPOSE:To prevent misoperation by counting a signal generated by a sorter every time a form is stored normally, and correcting the frequency of image formation into a counted value when abnormality occurs in the sorter. CONSTITUTION:A sorter control part 56 turns on a signal C-RCV for a certain time with a signal from a paper detection switch 34. A copying machine control part 51 counts how many times the signal C-RCV is turned on (the number of forms stored normally in the sorter) separately from the quantity of copies, and stores the counted value. If a jam is caused in the sorter, the copying machine carries on copying operation until the jam id detected, so there is a difference generated between the number of forms P sorted by the sorter and the number of forms P copied by the copying machine. For the purpose, the copying machine control part 51 replaces the stored frequency of on-level transition of the signal C-RCV with the number of copies counted so far when release the sorter from the jam. Consequently, there is no difference between the number of forms stored in the sorter and the number of copies taken by the copying machine when the copying operation is restarted. |
