PURPOSE:To lower the water content of sediments as well as to make dredging operations easier by a method in which a screw is thrust through the insides of an upper casing, a rotary cylinder casing, and a lower casing and turned to turn the rotary cylinder. CONSTITUTION:A dredger 5 is fitted with a guide rail 8 and vertically moved with movement of a winch 3, consisting of an upper casing 9, a lower casing 10, and a rotary cylinder casing 11 provided between the casings 9 and 10 in a split form. The lower end of the lower casing 10 is penetrated into the sediment 13 of the bottom under water, and the uppermost end portion of a spiral screw 14 is also penetrated into the sediment 13. The screw 14 and the rotary cylinder are turned and the raking and discharge of the sediment 13 are started. The scattering diffusion of mud in water can thus be extremely reduced and the water content of sediment discharged from the discharge port can be greatly lowered. |
