The invention relates to a variable-balance game racquet equipped with a device comprising a movable element 7 which can slide along a guide element 4 between the base of the frame 3 and a location of the grip 1, and with means 11 for stopping the movable element interacting with means 10 for stopping the guide element; in this racquet, the movable element 7 is connected to the grip by an elastic element 8a and the stopping means 10 and 11 interact so that, if the movable element 7 is firstly immobilised in a location close to the base of frame 3 before a serve or smash movement is performed, the abovementioned movable element is then automatically released by the centrifugal force to which it is subjected during the serve or the smash and brought back through the return effect of the elastic element as far as a location which is closer to the grip. <IMAGE>
