PURPOSE:A guest-host type liquid crystal composition, containing a guest molecule having the molecular length equal to or longer than that of a triazo dye, and capable of multiplex driving. CONSTITUTION:A guest-host type liquid crystal composition containing a liquid crystal of phenylcyclohexane based liquid crystal as a host and a molecular compound having a molecular length equal to or longer than that of a triazo dye, e.g. azomethine, azo or anthraquinone based dye, e.g. a compound expressed by formulas I -III, as a guest.
