PURPOSE:To provide a novel method of measuring creatine which eliminates the contaminability occurring in picric acid by using picrate which is the salt of the picric acid and nitrogenous org. compd. in place of the picric acid. CONSTITUTION:The picrate is the generic term for the salts of picric acid but is limited to the salt of the picric acid and org. base in this invention. The picrate of the picric acid and nitrogenous org. compd. is used in place of the picric acid and the form thereof is to act creatinine to the picric acid converted preliminarily to picrate and an alkali soln. Such form is more preferably to the other methods. The method of forming the picrate is required simply by adding an org. compd. to an aq. picric acid soln. and adding an alkali, org. solvent and surface active agent according to need then dissolving the mixture.
