PURPOSE:To perform operation on an engine so smoothly even in case of partial cylinder operation, by installing a controlling device which responds to a signal pertaining to an engine speed of a Diesel engine and controls over a fuel injection quantity in a fuel-injection pump in conformity with the specified governing characteristic. CONSTITUTION:When discrimination to the effect that partial cylinder operation should be done takes place at a control part 9, a partial cylinder controller 9 operates by means of a control signal CS1. Fuel out of a fuel-injection pump 3 is fed to only three specified cylinders of a Diesel engine 2. Engine speed data are outputted on the basis of mean rotation data out of a second operation part 18, while governing control is carried out in conformity with a governing pattern for partial cylinder operation secured at a second gverning pattern operation part 22. Thus, a variation in torque of the engine and generation of hunting and vibration are eliminable even in time of the partial cylinder operation. |
