A fastening device serving to connect the upright part 2 of a fork arm 1 to the supporting profile 3 of a clamp device, in which weakening in the upright part 2 of the fork arm 1 is avoided owing to the fact that this upright part 2 is connected to at least one bracket plate 6, 7, one bore each being arranged in each of these bracket plates 6, 7, and that a bore is arranged in alignment with this bore in the supporting profile 3, and that a bolt 8 or 9 which transmits horizontal forces between the upright part 2 of the fork arm and the supporting profile is inserted through these bores. <IMAGE>
