A woodworking machine for tenoning and slitting and if need be for longitudinally profiling framing timber, in particular window timber, in which two cutting-to-length devices are provided, where, after a first end of the window timber is cut to length, the window timber is guided against a mechanically movable stop which can be secured in various setting positions relative to its guide, whereupon the second end of the window timber is cut to length in the stop position, is to be designed in such a way that the type of construction of the machine is greatly simplified and that the shock-like stressing of the stop is eliminated. To this end, provision is made according to the invention for the end of the movement of the stop in the direction of the window timber to be machined to lie in the area of the window-timber front end in the working direction after it is guided past the first cutting-to-length device, and for the stop end facing the window timber to be provided with a gripper which takes hold of the window timber in its first cutting-to-length position and during the return of the stop carries the window timber along into the second cutting-to-length position.
