PURPOSE:To move a cursor in each dot easily and to attain approximate position setting by outputting a value obtained by multiplying a moving distance by a factor selected from the moving distance of a mouse type input device which is obtained within a fixed period as a mouse moving distance. CONSTITUTION:A CPU3 moves a cursor on the screen of a display 8 on the basis of the moving distance and direction of the mouse type input device. A mouse control part 4 is constituted of a microprocessor 5, an I/O port 6, an input port 7 and a memory. When the mouse type input device moves in the positive X direction, an X+ pulse is generated at first and then an X- pulse is generated. The mouse control part 4 counts up the pulses when the mouse is moved, and when the counted value of a timer reaches a prescribed value, finds out a factor from the real moving distance. Plural factors are set up and the factors are increased in accordance with the increase of the moving distance. The value obtained by multiplying the real moving distance by the factor is outputted as the mouse moving distance and the mouse moving distance and its direction are informed to the CPU3.
