PURPOSE:To obtain an electrophotographic sensitive body having a photosensitive layer of which the crystallization is suppressed and which has high photosensitivity and excellent durability by heating and melting an Se raw material contg. a specific amt. of Te and a slight amt. of specific metals and holding the molten material for specified time or above at the temp. lower than the heating temp. then cooling the molten material to solidify. CONSTITUTION:The raw material composed of 12-35wt% Te, 1-100wt.ppm metals such as Cu and Au and the balance Se is heated and melted at 380-450 deg.C in an inert gaseous atmosphere or in a vacuum and after the molten material is maintained at the melting temp. for about 60min under stirring, the melt is quickly cooled to about 250- 360 deg.C lower than said temp. and is held for >=30min at the decreased temp. under stirring. The melt is held within 180min although the holding time is enough with about 30min. The melt is then injected into water through a quartz nozzle, etc. and is quickly cooled to solidify. The alloy having the uniform compsn. formed in such a manner is used for forming a photoconductive layer of the electrophotographic sensitive body. The photosensitive body which is free from segregation of Te, deteriorates hardly even in a high-temp. and high humidity environment and has excellent durability is thus obtd. |
