PURPOSE:To provide a thermal recording material requiring less thermal energy for melting or dissolution and having high sensitivity and a high dynamic color forming sensitivity, wherein a leuco dye and a color developer having melting points in respective specified ranges are incorporated in a thermal color forming layer. CONSTITUTION:A leuco dye, e.g., 3-(N-ethyl-N-ethoxypropyl)amino-7-(N-methyl-N- m-trifluoromethylphenyl)aminofluoran, and a color developer, e.g., benzyl p- hydroxybenzoate, which have melting points in the range of 60-130 deg.C are used in a thermal recording material wherein a thermal color forming layer comprising a normally colorless or light-colored leuco dye and a color developer capable of developing the color of the dye when being heated as main constituents is provided on a base. |
