PURPOSE:To obtain the titled composition suitable for the coating of a subbing layer to improve the adhesivity of a base film, stably, by dissolving a water- insoluble copolymerized polyester resin in a specific organic solvent, mixing said solution homogeneously with water, and removing the solvent from the mixture by vacuum distillation. CONSTITUTION:A water-insoluble copolymerized polyester resin (preferably a resin containing organic sulfonic acid salt, etc.) is dissolved in an organic solvent composed mainly of THF, and the solution is mixed homogeneously with water e.g. by a high-speed agitation, etc. The organic solvent is removed from the resultant mixture by vacuum distillation under a pressure of <=600mm.Hg to obtain the objective composition containing fine resin particles dispersed uniformly in water. To improve the stability of the aqueous dispersion, it is preferable to add a surfactant to the resin solution. The film to which the above composition is to be applied is preferably a polyethylene terephthalate film, etc. |
