PURPOSE:To form selectively both of a negative image and positive image by providing an auxiliary photosensitive body for forming an electrostatic latent image by a reverse polarity separately from a main photosensitive body for forming an electrostatic image and toner image and using only one kind of developer. CONSTITUTION:A positive polarity charge is uniformly electrified on the surface of the main photosensitive body 1 and an original on an original platen 39 is irradiated by an exposing lamp 25 in the case of obtaining the positive image. The light reflected from the original is irradiated and focused onto the body 1 and therefore the electrostatic latent image corresponding to the positive image of the original is formed on the body 1. The electrostatic latent image is then developed with a toner by a developing machine 4 and the toner image is made on the body 1. Both of the electrifier 7 and negative polarity electrifier 8 are operated to electrify uniformly the positive polarity charge to the body 1 and to electrify uniformly the negative polarity charge to the body 2 in the case of obtaining the negative image. A rotary mirror 36 is turned to the dotted line position at the same time to shut off the optical path to the body 1 so that the image by the light reflected from the original is formed and exposed on the body 2. |
