PURPOSE:To display a message versatile sufficiently from the practical point of view by providing a display control circuit to a shutter board opening/closing a cassette loading slit and also providing a display command means to a case and using an optical signal during them so as to transmit/receive the display message, thereby utilizing a limited space. CONSTITUTION:A display command means 20 is provided and fixed to the inside of the case of a VTR. A display control circuit 30 is fitted to a slide shutter 5 and when the slide shutter 5 becomes the closing state choking a cassette loading slit 6, the shutter opposes to the display command means 20. A photodetector 31 is provided to a position opposite to a light emitting element 23 when the slide shutter 5 covers the cassette loading slit 6. When the photodetector 31 receives an optical signal L, the detector converts the signal into an electric signal S4 and gives it to a moving part control circuit 32.
