PURPOSE:To obtain a casting plate having uniform and fine crystal grains by supplying a molten metal to a nozzle while inducing electromagnetic force in the molten metal by an electromagnetic induction pump. CONSTITUTION:An inductor 1 of the electromagnetic induction pump installed in the nozzle part for supplying the molten metal consists of a magnetic circuit 16 and a three-phase coil 12 fitted into the groove of the circuit 16 and creates the progressing magnetic field penetrating through the molten metal. Induction current is induced in the molten metal and the electromagnetic force is generated by the interaction with the magnetic field, by which a pressure head is created in the nozzle. The uniform flow of the molten metal is thus obtd. by controlling the electromagnetic force so as to attain the adequate pressure head to overcome the fluid resistance in the nozzle. The casting plate having the uniform and fine crystal grains is thus obtd. by such flow coupled with the electromagnetic stirring effect of the molten metal. |
