PURPOSE:To improve the separability of sludge by gravity, to improve the releasability of sludge from filter cloths, and to reduce the water content of the dehydrated cake by adding a metallic salt to organic sludge, and then adding both AH polymer and AA polymer to the sludge. CONSTITUTION:A metallic salt such as an aluminum or an iron salt is firstly added to organic sludge, and then an acrylic acid hydrazide high molecular compd. and a high molecular compd. contg. an amino group or a quaternary ammonium salt are added to the sludge. Consequently, the separability of sludge by gravity is improved, the release of sludge from filter cloths is facilitated, and the water content of the dehydrated cake is also reduced. Besides, a compd. shown by the formula is used as said hydrazine high molecular compd.
