The present invention relates to a respirator allowing the minimum respiratory minute volume mode to be produced. This respirator is characterised in that it comprises a pressure reducing demand valve 7 connected between the integrator balloon 6 and a pipe 8 connecting the distribution assembly 1 to the mask 3, a solenoid valve or another pressure reducing demand valve 9 connected between the output of the mixer 2 and the integrator balloon 6, a pressure sensor 10 measuring the value of the pressure in the integrator balloon 6 and connected to an electronic circuit 11 which can control the triggering of a machine cycle. <IMAGE>
