NEW MATERIAL:1-Amino-2-guanidinomethylcyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid expressed by the formula. USE:Useful as medicines such as immunological enhancer, carcinostatic agent and anti-inflammatory agent or intermediates therefor having an immunity stimulating activity. PREPARATION:A basic amino acid-containing fraction is separated from an extract of Grate loupia carnosa with water (which may contain a hydrophilic medium such as an alcohol aqueous solution), for example, optionally followed by using the well-known separating and purifying method, to obtain an isolated aimed compound expressed by the formula. The above-mentioned compound may be synthesized by thiol-eliminating reaction of the corresponding gamma-alkylthioamino acid or by ring-enlarging reaction of a substituted olefinecarboxylic acid.
