PURPOSE:To simplify the structure of fluid frictional clutch by providing a plurality of retractable operating chips engageable with the outer tube on the rotor and varying the transmission rate of clutch by limiting/releasing projection of said operating chip. CONSTITUTION:If the projection chip 9b of operating chip 9 is contacting against a portion of outercircumferential face except the inclined guide faces 12a, 12b of operating rod 12 under rotation of the outer tube members 3a-3d of respective clutch unit, the operating chip 9 is pulled to the maximum to the inside thus to produce a gap between the inclined portion of operating chip and the outer tubular member 3b thus to transmit the rotary force sufficiently from the outer tube member to the operating tube body 7 side. Upon engagement of the projected chip of operating chip at the rearmost of the cross-angle position of the inclined guide face, the operating chip will project to transmit the rotary force completely. |
