Optical link and data transmission method

The link has a spectral band covering a central part of a transmission band of the optical link, where the transmission band comprises an edge part on both sides of the central part including a wavelength for which successive super blocks (9-11) alternately present a zero cumulated dispersion value and a negative cumulated dispersion value to each block. Another edge part has a wavelength for which the successive super blocks alternately present a positive cumulated dispersion value and a zero cumulated dispersion value to each block. An independent claim is also included for a data transmission method.
