PURPOSE:To manufacture a high-hardness wear-resistant steel having superior weldability and high durability by hardening a steel contg. specified percentages of C, Si, Mn, P, S, Cr, Mo, sol. Al and B and having a specified pH value estimating weldability. CONSTITUTION:A steel consisting of 0.3-0.5% C, 0.05-0.5% Si, 0.5-1.5% Mn, <=0.010% P, <=0.005% S, 0.1-1.0% Cr, 0.02-0.4% Mo, 0.01-0.1% sol.Al, 0.0005-0.05% B and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities or further contg. 0.005-0.05% Ti and one or more among <=0.5% Cu, <=0.5% Ni, <=0.05% Nb and <=0.05% V and having <=1.0% pH value represented by an equation pH=C+ Mn/10+Mo/6+Cr/15+3V+40P+100B(%) is hardened or hardened and tempered at a low temp.
